PARTIES INVOLVED: Cooper Shank, Edward Shank, Unnamed Victim
Statement:
At approximately 5:45 PM, Sat. July 15th, 2010, Edward Shank’s dog (Cooper) freed himself from the backyard of his residence and proceeded to the front where Edward Shank was located. In the meantime, an unnamed victim (a teenage boy approximately 13-15yrs of age) was jogging in front of the residence (barefoot and shirtless). Mr. Shank’s dog (Cooper) began to chase and bark at the unnamed victim. Edward Shank called out to his dog (Cooper), but the dog (Cooper) did not stop his pursuit of the unnamed victim. The unnamed victim appeared to be mildly distressed and began to run faster; at this at this time, Mr. Shank offered the dog (Cooper) a ride in his vehicle. The dog (Cooper) was approximately 20 – 30 feet away from the unnamed victim when he (Cooper) broke off his chase in anticipation of a ride in Mr. Shank’s vehicle. The unnamed victim continued jogging eastbound away from Mr. Shank’s residence and appeared to be unharmed.
